Despite the setting and the similarities to Twilight, their forbidden relationship feels more believeable even compared to some other particular show that it's labeled as romance in this season. I'm liking Tsukasa & Anzu's relationship more than I should.
It took a while, but these recent events add a bit more complexity and a bit of depth wich really could have been used in earlier episodes. This is one of those shows where the 3 episode rule should not apply. Also, Vampire Makishima Shogo certainly is the best boy. They certainly wanted to have Monogatari cast here. And he is voiced by Sakurai Takahiro, and the guy from his squad - by Kamiya Hiroshi. Possibly non-human (since they insist on using "devil" and "vampire" distinctly, maybe he is something else?). End of the episode was just "the plot thickens" all around. Was expecting a redemption plotline for her, instead she basically was a highlight of what kind of people are suited to be pawns in anti-devil conspiracy.
And did he seriously never in his entire life questioned his origins as a half-breed? Sniper-chan having a tragic past did not save her from dying 2 episodes after being introduced. Major vampire incident with "all hands on deck"? Time to advance the relationship with my girlfriend. They're clearly meant to drink blood, how did a culture of not doing that even emerged? Well, Anzai certainly is suited for Tsukasa - they're both idiots. Wait, so the vampires turn even when they see blood on TV? Which means they can't watch any R rated entertainment, wtf, why even live? Abstaining from drinking blood dramatically lowers lifespan, causes drug-addiction like cravings etc.
